Jim's Father, Gareth, was one of the Founders of Valley Christian High School in Cerritos/Bellflower CA . Gareth grew up in Randolph Wisconsin and then attended Grundy College (which was a CRC college in Iowa at the time, but no longer in operation) and then Calvin College & Seminary. During his Grand Rapids years Gareth attended 1st CRC (early 1900's). Later, Gareth's son, Jim, (also a CRC pastor) attended 1st CRC as a young father/husband in the 70's & 80's while working as a chaplain at Pine Rest Hospital.
